OK maybe a little -- but I've said it before...Seth Godin has changed my life. Its personal for me (so maybe not for you) -- I started reading Seth's stuff (Purple Cow) at a time in my life where I was at a personal crescendo of FED UPness; FED UP with Veruca Salt managers demanding ever more from ever less, corporate namby pamby's looking to homogenize the sales force with physco testing and sales tracking (I'd rather you put a GPS chip up my buttocks if it means I don't have to fill out the darn sales pipeline form -- if your gonna track your sales force dammit track 'em -- herd 'em!).
Note to Veruca(s): You won't win but at least you'll know where they are.
If this is a corporate cubicle emergency please hang up and call Pamela Slim immediately!
Mostly in the end I am FED UP with myself. I have been for too long a gray (dull, dreary, monotonous) sheep -- not white enough to fit in and not black enough to break free. Sound familiar? Point is doesn't matter what color sheep I/you are -- a sheep is a sheep...aptly defined: "a meek, unimaginative, easily led person". Ouch! That ain't me!
(No wonder there is no singular for sheep it's the same as the plural. Ouch again!)
So here's the thing -- read Seth's Sheepwalking, its scary compelling! Then join me in making a pledge to change; change something, change everything -- TODAY and then TOMORROW!
I am FED UP are you? Baaaahhhhhhh!
