My friend Nedra Weinreich posts that she & her sister Michelle "pre-gifted" their Father on his birthday. Warm-hearted, humanitarian minds think alike! He is now the blessed owner of two flocks of chicks, plus one flock each of geese and ducks. Begs, are the chicks geese or ducks? Of course Dad will not have to tend and care for the flock(s) as they will be donated to a worthy family that will raise them and earn a livelihood off of them! Jolly good!
I don't know Nedra and Michelle's Dad's (911 grammar police) name so I'll just call him Mr. Lucky! Lucky to have raised daughters like that!
And lucky too for those families that Heifer International supports -- and to think for the girls no doorbusters, clipping of coupons or midnight lines.
Now if only Heifer would change their name to iHeifer or hi3...maybe HeiferTMX!
Oh, how I wish I'd thought of your title for the post! :-) You're absolutely right that this type of gift helps avoid the dreaded mall at this time of year (Mr. Lucky's b-day is 12/25), which is an added bonus to donating online. And though it's goofy, I have to add that it is I who is Ms. Lucky to have a dad like him. (Awwwww....) Thanks for writing about this!
